First signboard on the 3rd Bridge

  1. First sign on the bridge: The works on the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which is the third bridge of Istanbul, continue at great speed.

Finally, direction signs on the Anatolian side of the bridge began to be placed on the connection roads. Signs indicating the direction of Edirne on the European Side will be put next week. While most of the viaducts were completed on the roads that continue at the same speed as the bridge construction, 59 of the 24 steel decks to be placed on the bridge were lowered. 176 of 80 inclined suspension ropes, one of the bearing elements of Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, were placed. While the construction of the cat road to be used to pull the main cable of the bridge is completed, asphalting works at the highway section gained speed.

Yavuz Sultan Selim, having a width of 59 meters, will have the title of the widest bridge in the world when it is completed. The length of the bridge, which will be a total of 10 lanes, will be a thousand 408 meters.

In the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, the construction of which started on May 29, 2013 by IC İçtaş-Astaldi JV with the build-operate transfer model, the works are progressing in line with the plans. 59 of the 22 steel decks on the bridge were replaced. The transactions are targeted to be completed in January 2016.
