3. Things changed in bridge construction

1. Things have changed in the construction of the bridge: Works continue at full speed on the 3rd Bosphorus Bridge and Northern Marmara Motorway Project implemented by ICA. Providing information on how the operations are carried out, the 3rd Bridge Steel Deck Officer said, “Previously, steel decks were taken to the land and then to the bridge level by cranes. "Our method has changed now," he said.
2. Assembly and welding of 923 of the 59 steel decks on the Bosphorus Bridge, the heaviest of which is 29 tons, have ended. Thus, half of the steel deck assembly process was completed.
3. Bridge Steel Deck Supervisor said, “There are 59 steel decks in total. The heaviest of steel decks is 923 tons, its height is 5.5 meters. Except for the 59th deck, there are 29 decks that are under the separate responsibility of both sides. 15 percent of the steel decks have been completed, 14 on the European side and 50 on the Asian side, ”he said.

Providing information on how the operations are carried out, the 3rd Bridge Steel Deck Officer said, “Previously, steel decks were taken to the land and then to the bridge level by cranes. Our method has changed now. Now it has become an operation where we do steel deck lifting directly from the sea with cranes called 'Derrick Crane'. Our work continues rapidly, ”he said.
