Gebze- Darıca- Çayıova light rail system preparation from the municipality: KOCAELİ Metropolitan Municipality took action to make a light rail (LRT-Metro) line on the Gebze- Darıca - Çayırova line after the tram project planned to be carried out in Izmit. For this purpose, a tender was opened to prepare the feasibility study.
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation, Rail Systems Branch Directorate, Gebze-Çayırova-Darıca line in the north-south direction of the light rail system (LRT-Metro) line for the preliminary feasibility study of Kocaeli Transportation Master Plan for the preliminary feasibility study studies were conducted within the scope of the project.
Two companies participated in the tender held within the scope of the works envisaged to establish a light rail line in the north-south direction of Gebze District. While Pro Yapı Mühendislik made the highest bid with 540 thousand TL, Boğaziçi Proje Mühendislik offered 295 thousand TL. The contract price of the tender was determined as 347 thousand 500 TL. After the work is completed, it will be submitted to the approval of the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments.
It is aimed to provide a strong connection between the OIZ areas and Gebze and Darica district centers, two large research hospitals and Marmaray with the light rail system line, whose feasibility studies continue. With the completion of the preliminary feasibility studies of the Gebze North-Gebze Gar-Darica Light Rail System Line (LRT-Metro), which is determined in the north-south direction of the Gebze sector, making journey demand forecasts, route analyzes, determining station locations and financial- economic evaluation will be prepared.
