LRT-Metro Feasibility Study in Gebze: Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality prepares the preliminary feasibility study of the light rail system (LRT-Metro) line in the Gebze-Darıca-Çayırova axis called Gebze sector

The pre-feasibility study of the light rail system (LRT-Metro) line in the north-south direction of the Gebze-Çayırova-Darica axis is being carried out by the Directorate of Rail Systems of the Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department. For this purpose, the pre-feasibility study tender will be held on Thursday, July 2.

GEBZE-DARICA-ÇAYIROVA AXIS

Gebze sector; Çayırova, Gebze and Darıca districts constitute an important industrial area of ​​the city. The existing and planned industries, ports and similar functions in the region have a very wide impact on a national scale.

OIZ areas in the north of Gebze and new industrial areas in the zoning plans are planned together with housing areas in the north. Considering the access of residential areas to industrial areas and the city center, high-capacity public transport axes are needed in the north-south direction.

TAKE PLACE IN THE TRANSPORTATION MAIN PLANT

The Kocaeli Transportation Master Plan, whose preparations are completed and shared with the public, is foreseen to form a rail system line in the north-south direction of Gebze district. Starting from this target, the Rail Systems Branch Office starts the pre-feasibility studies of the light rail system in the region. After the works are completed, they will be submitted to the approval of the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments.

19 KM FOR NORTH-SOUTH

The aim of the project is to provide a strong connection between two major research hospitals, Gebze and Darica district centers, two major research hospitals, and OIZ areas with feasibility studies. Following the preliminary feasibility studies of the Gebze North-Gebze Gar – Darica Light Rail Line (LRT-Metro), which is located in the north-south direction of the Gebze sector; making trip demand forecasts, making route analyzes, determining station locations and financial-economic evaluation.
