Deutsche Bahn officials announced that they are trying to maintain a small number of long-haul flights from the alternative route between Dortmund and Cologne.

It was stated that the tree was derailed on the Avrocity train in Osnabrück and approximately 300 passengers were trapped in the train. In Frankfurt, a scaffolding was overturned due to a storm. It was noted that material damage occurred while there were no injuries in the incident.

In the cities of Bottrop, Dortmund and Essen, drivers were not allowed to use some highways.
