Agreed to run Hayraton - Mezar-ı Şerif railway line operation by Uzbekistan

The “Hayraton - Mezar-ı Şerif” railway line, which connects the south of Uzbekistan to the northern region of Afghanistan, will be operated by the Uzbekistan Railways state company as before.

According to the agreement signed between the Uzbek company and the Ministry of Public Relations in Afghanistan, the Uzbek side will receive 19 Million USD as operating fee per year.

The Hayraton-Mezar-i Serif railway, built in 2011 on an agreement with Afghanistan, is 106 kilometers long. The new railway line has been operated by the Uzbekistan state railway company since its inception.

According to official sources, the “Hayraton - Mezar-ı Şerif” railway is used to transport the products and goods necessary for the production of agricultural products to the northern regions of Afghanistan.
