Construction of Kahramanmaras-Goksun tunnels completed

The construction of the Kahramanmaraş-Göksun tunnels has been completed: The works in the 9 tunnels of 3 kilometers that will connect the Black Sea and Central Anatolia to the Mediterranean are about to be completed.
The final checks are carried out in the 3 tunnels and 19-kilometer highway built by the former Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yıldırım. With the completion of the project, which is expected to cost around 260 million pounds, the transportation between Kahramanmaraş and Göksun will be approximately 40 minutes. Ünal stated that they are planning to open 3 tunnels, whose deficiencies were corrected with the support of the former Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Lütfi Elvan, on May 26th. Ünal reminded that 3 tunnels between Kahramanmaraş and Göksun were completed in 2 years.

Reminding that only one of the tunnels is as long as the Bolu Tunnel, Ünal said, “We have built 2 tunnels just as long as the Bolu Tunnel in 3 years. I hope we are finishing the 6 kilometer long Göksun connection road, ”he said.
Explaining that the tender will be held for the highway connecting Kahramanmaraş to Malatya after the elections, Ünal completed his words as follows: “Thus, our city will be connected to both Kayseri and Malatya by a road in international highway standards. When these studies are completed, we will fulfill our promise. We have plans for the upcoming period. We are working on a direct road linking the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. At the same time, our district of Göksun will be the center of the Mediterranean connection. "
