With the e-RAIL project, railroaders will learn remotely: The vocational training project named “e-RAIL” supported by the European Commission within the scope of Erasmus + program of the Izmir-based Railway Construction and Operation Staff Solidarity and Solidarity Association (YOLDER) started. Turkey supported under a program managed by the National Agency, 171 thousand 641 euro budget project kick-off meeting was held in Izmir with the participation of partners.

Speaking at the meeting, YOLDER Chairman Özden Polat said that e-RAIL is the only railway project in the vocational training program opened this year. This project in Turkey to further improve the education levels of around road construction workers and high standards in member countries of the European Union railways said they aimed at adapting to Turkey. Polat said, "Completing the vocational qualification reforms at the national level, supporting the modernization of education and training systems, increasing the competence and skill level of railway construction personnel, and strengthening the international dimension of vocational education and training are among the special objectives of the project." said.

Stating that more trained personnel will be needed in the railway sector, Özden Polat continued as follows: “With the liberalization, railway personnel will be able to work in the private sector. On the other hand, rail systems are more involved in urban transportation. This is a development that creates employment, but professional competence will be a prerequisite for this. For this reason, updating the information we have and adapting them to today is of great importance. Our project is focused on railway maintenance and repair. It is the most appropriate learning method for refreshing, updating and improving e-learning knowledge for road personnel who spend their lives between two rails in extremely severe conditions. The e-RAIL project will be the key book of lifelong learning for railways. "
