The crowd gathered on September 10, 2013 in front of Espark Shopping Center on University Street in Eskibağlar Mahallesi and walked by shouting slogans for Ahmet Atakan who died in the protest in Hatay. He made a sit-in action at the level crossing where the crowded University Street and Cengiz Topel Street intersect. The protesters blocked the passage of YHTs and vehicles for about 4 hours.
A lawsuit was filed against 110 people who took part in the action against the crimes of 'opposition to the meeting and demonstration march 3' and 'blocking of transportation vehicles' article of TCK in the 2911rd Criminal Court of First Instance. 223 of the defendants who were tried pending trial from 2 to 3 years in prison testified at the hearing held yesterday. Due to the high number of defendants, the 8-day trial continued at the Palace of Justice Conference Hall. At the hearing today, 43 defendants testified. The defendants who were tried without arrest did not accept the accusations on them at the hearing. The defendants, who stated that they had demonstrated their democratic reactions, asked for their acquittal.
The judge of the Eskişehir 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance postponed the hearing until September 2, 70 in order to receive the statements of 40 defendants after the 40-day trial and that 30 defendants did not come to the hearing.
