Step-by-Step Treatment from Ministry of Izmir Metro

Izmir Metro saw Step-Son Treatment from the Ministry: The decision of the Council of Ministers was published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, while the Ministry of Transport undertakes metro projects in Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya, it did not include the Üçkuyular-Narlıdere and Üçyol-Buca Metro lines in its program. The Council of Ministers made a change in the regulation on “urban rail transport system projects” and transferred the construction of the rail system projects in Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya to the Ministry of Transport.

According to the decision of the Council of Ministers on the issue in the current issue of the Official Gazette, the Ministry of Transport approved by the Ministry of Transport will be undertaken by the Ministry of Transport.

With the decision, the Yenikapı-İncirli metro line in Istanbul, the AKM-Gar-Kızılay metro line in Ankara and the Meydan Airport-EXPO rail system line in Antalya were transferred to the Ministry of Transport.

NO İZMİR!
With the decision, the ministry became formalized not to take over the subway projects in İzmir. Accordingly, the ministry did not take the Üçkuyular-Narlıdere and Üçyol-Buca Metro lines into the program.

In the 2015 investment program, the Ministry of Transport has allocated 750 million pounds for Istanbul's unfinished metro lines and 955 million pounds for Ankara's metro lines.

The Üçkuyular-Narlıdere and Üçyol-Buca Metro lines, which the Ministry took over from Büyükşehir, were not included in the investment program.

For the 4.5 kilometer Halkapınar-Otogar Metro Line to be realized by TCDD General Directorate, 52 million 186 thousand pounds have been allocated to the budget this year. Last year, Halkapınar-Otogar Metro line was allocated but the investment was not started.
