The high-speed train line project, which is planned to be transported from Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa and Mardin to the Habur Border Gate, was welcomed by the business community in the Southeastern Anatolia Region for its great contribution to the economy.

Within the scope of the GAP Action Plan, the efforts to transport the high-speed train, intended to increase the welfare level of the people of the region, by increasing economic growth and employment, through Gaziantep-Şanlıurfa-Mardin to the Habur Border Gate, pleased the business environment in the region.

It was reported that the construction of the new Mürşitpınar-Şanlıurfa railway line, which will have a wealth of historical and cultural heritage and will connect Şanlıurfa, one of the important cities of the GAP region, to the main railway network, will start in 2015.

A railway line will be built to reach the Habur Border Gate near Silopi district of Şırnak via Gaziantep-Şanlıurfa-Mardin. 133,3 kilometers long double track railway will be built for the Nusaybin-Habur high-speed railway project, which is of great importance in trade with neighboring countries.

AK Party Diyarbakir Deputy Galip Ensarioğlu said that the most important element of the economic development of transportation infrastructure.

Ensarioğlu stated that the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications attaches great importance to the high-speed railway project and makes great efforts for this. “In 2023, the high-speed train will extend from Edirne to Habur. Thanks to the high-speed train, the products to be produced in the region will be sent to both the Middle East market and abroad via İskenderun and Mersin port in a short time. The project will make a major contribution to the regional economy. ”

Ensarioğlu stated that they have made attempts to extend the high-speed train project to Diyarbakır and added: “The high-speed train will reach Diyarbakır through two separate lines via Şanlıurfa and Mardin. The Ministry gave the necessary instructions for the project of these 2 lines. TCDD is working on this. ”
