Approaching the Eurasian Tunnel

The Eurasia Tunnel crossing is approaching the end: After the Bosphorus Bridge, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and Marmaray, the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Eurasia Tunnel crossing started.
One of the projects that are trying to bring two sides of Istanbul together is getting closer to the end.
A new intercontinental project is being carried out in order to provide solutions to the increasing vehicle numbers and population of Istanbul. The project, carried out by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (AYGM-Formerly known as DLH) will cost 285 million 121 thousand dollars of equity, using 960 million dollars credit, and will cost 1 billion 245 million 121 thousand US Dollars. The completion time of the project is indicated as 55 month. 24 year 5 Eurasian Tunnel Operation Construction and Investment Co. The tunnel will be transferred to the ministry.
The project underlined that the ministry guarantees approximately daily 68 thousand vehicle passes. It is stated that the maximum speed 70 km / s and the minimum speed 20 km / h are designed in the two-storey tunnel. When traffic is less than the minimum speed, traffic will be prevented until the traffic is relieved. It is foreseen that 130bin will be around one year after starting to operate daily vehicle traffic.
In the project, with the operating pressure of 11 bar, the second tunnel digging machine is used in the world. The daily 8-10 meter tunnel digging machine will go below the ground 110 meter.
A detailed seminar was given to the students in the Eurasia Tunnel Technical Trip which was organized within the scope of eli International Students' Professional Development Project in Istanbul Teknik which was supported by the Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities. During the seminar, 30 received information from local and international students on questions they were curious about. Following the seminar, technical equipment and equipment were introduced at the site. After leaving the excursion area, the food was eaten with the students and the trip ended.
