Minister Elvan: We will not do business without asking the demand of the people of Afyon in the new highway project.Lütfi Elvan, the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, announced that the Ankara-İzmir Highway Project, which causes debates whether it will pass through Afyonkarahisar or not, is in the draft phase. Elvan said, "We cannot do business without asking the people of Afyonkarahisar and listening to their demands."
Elvan opened the Dinar-Dazkırı, Sandıklı, Keçiborlu and Afyonkarahisar-Kütahya divided roads with a ceremony held at the Özdilek junction in Afyonkarahisar. In his speech, Elvan referred to the Ankara-İzmir Highway Project, which caused public debate in Afyonkarahisar and is said to pass 60 kilometers from the center, and noted that it is not clear that the project is currently in the draft phase. Elvan said, “I heard very different reports about the new highway, saying 'It will not pass through Afyonkarahisar' and the position of Afyonkarahisar will worsen. I even heard some statements that the highway will pass at a greater distance than Afyonkarahisar. Our work on the highway is still at the draft stage. We do not do these things without asking our Afyonkarahisar brothers' wishes, wishes and demands. Be aware of this. " said.
Stating that Afyonkarahisar was a village 10 years ago, Elvan noted that those who could not hammer a nail into the city in the past had no right to criticize themselves. Elvan said, “Ask those who criticize us; “Did you hit a nail with this? You will say tell me what you have done. You will remind 10 years ago. Afyonkarahisar was like a village. Today is one of Turkey's most developed provinces. " he spoke.
