Countdown in Ordu-Giresun Airport Project

Countdown in Ordu-Giresun Airport Project: The countdown has begun to open Ordu-Giresun Airport, the third airport in the world, all built on the sea.
The infrastructure works of the project, which Cengiz Holding Chairman Mehmet Cengiz calls “Our Pride”, was completed before the foreseen time. Shortly after giving information about each airport officials estimated could begin test flights of the project, showing the construction sector in Turkey in terms of where it is stated that it is very important.
Ordu-Giresun Airport, which is expected to be operational by the end of March, is the third airport built on the sea surface in the world. Kansai and Hong Kong airports were built on the sea in Japan. The airport will eliminate the trouble of the two city people because Samsun Airport is far from Ordu and Trabzon is far from Giresun. The airport, built with a spending of 173 million liras, has a runway of 3 kilometers long and 60 meters wide. The protective breakwater, 7 thousand 235 meters long, was built at a height of 100 meters from the sea, taking into account the 7.50-year wave heights. In the studies, 1 million tons of quarry stones that fit into 40 million trucks were used. 50 drillings were made for the ground, suitable quarries were determined. First, a miniature airport was built, then construction began. When the terminal buildings that are still running are completed, the airport will probably be put into service in March.
