The airport, built with a spending of 173 million liras, has a runway of 3 kilometers long and 60 meters wide. The protective breakwater, 7 thousand 235 meters long, was built at a height of 100 meters from the sea, taking into account the 7.50-year wave heights. In the studies, 1 million tons of quarry stones that fit into 40 million trucks were used. 50 drillings were made for the ground, suitable quarries were determined. First, a miniature airport was built, then construction began. When the terminal buildings that are still running are completed, the airport will probably be put into service in March.
