Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs Prof. Dr. Referring to the investments and openings made in the past, Veysel Eroğlu said, “In the past, I know that the Minister went to the opening of a toilet, you will see the internet. But now we are putting our signature on giant projects, thank God we are proud of it, ”he said.

Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Lütfi Elvan and Forestry and Water Affairs Minister Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu attended the "Highways Opening Ceremony" held in Afyonkarahisar. Speaking at the opening ceremony held at the Kütahya-İzmir intersection in Afyonkarahisar, where the divided road of Kütahya started, Minister Eroğlu reminded Afyonkarahisar that the government has made huge and huge investments compared to previous years. Stating that investments worth 9 billion TL were made in Afyonkarahisar as of last year, Minister Eroğlu said, “The Ministry of Transport, which made the biggest investment among the investments made, made an investment of 2.9 billion TL. There is more to do. In the past, the roads were well known, and I used to go to Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir with a thousand and one difficulties. It used to go to Istanbul in 10-12 hours in the past. Could the Bilecik ramps be overcome? You wouldn't go to Antalya before 6 hours. But now. Afyonkarahisar is the crossroads of all roads, all roads lead to Rome, but we removed it, we say that all roads lead to Afyonkarahisar.

Highways are an institution that is our face. In the past, the divided road was so few that it was only 5 thousand kilometers, while 80 thousand kilometers were built in 5 years, but now the Highways has written an epic with 17 thousand 600 kilometers of divided roads. In the past, there was the Bolu Tunnel, the previous governments could not finish it in 30 years, they said, 'Should we build a potato warehouse or close it?' Recep Tayip Erdogan, who was then Prime Minister of the time, gave instructions and it was opened with lightning speed. Look, it's not just the Bolu Tunnel, you enter Bozüyük on your way to Istanbul, you exit the Sakarya Junction. "Our government used to open only 600 kilometers of tunnels per year in the old Turkey, but now the Highways are tunneling 13 thousand meters a year, that is, they work 25 floors. This is the new Turkey, this is the way of Erdogan that opens our way."

In his speech, Minister Eroğlu mentioned the investments made in the past governments in time:

Look, how many kilometers we drive, there is no Prime Minister coming, only the Ministers come, we open investments of 458 million TL at once. I know that in the past I went to the Minister for the opening of a toilet, look on the internet you will see. But now we are putting our signature on giant projects, and thank God we are proud of this too. Afyonkarahisar has a 500-kilometer divided road. Could it be possible to cross the Damlalı Strait in Sandıklı, Köroğlu waist on the Ankara road, Bilecik Ramps in the past, but now we drilled the mountains and opened the roads.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Elvan drew attention to the transportation investments made in Turkey and Afyonkarahisar and talked about the investments made in the field of divided road and High Speed Train (YHT). Stating that significant distances have been covered in the divided road area in Afyonkarahisar, Minister Elvan said, “Afyonkarahisar is a city that has become a symbol of independence. Afyonkarahisar is the city of our hearts with its people and martyrs. We are also proud to make way for you. If we have equipped Afyonkarahisar with divided roads, built an airport, brought YHT and made Afyonkarahisar, which was deprived of communication, a European city, this is to make your hearts.

When we came to power, only 25 kilometers of the 54-kilometer road was a state road in Afyonkarahisar as a provincial and state road. But today, half of Afyonkarahisar's roads, that is 50 percent, are divided roads. We are now making Afyonkarahisar uninterrupted with Marmara, Mediterranean and Aegean with its high quality roads. In the past, you used to go to Antalya in 4 hours, today you go in 2 hours, in the past you go to Istanbul in 10-12 hours by bus, today you go in 4 hours and 15 minutes. The past governments were wondering day and night, what to do and do that small opening, but now we are doing the openings collectively. "We cannot spare time for openings from working, producing".

During his visits to the cities, Minister Elvan stated that the citizens did not demand a split road and continued his speech as follows:

“The citizens we go to the provinces do not request divided roads, because we fulfilled their requests. Our citizens now want YHT. Today, we raised Turkey to 8th in the world and 6th in Europe in YHT business. I hope we will go up further. We will connect Afyonkarahisar to Ankara and Izmir via YHT. We started working. Work continues in Polatlı. Efforts continue to connect Afyonkarahisar to Antalya with YHT. This will reduce the distance between YHT and Afyon Istanbul to 2023 hours and 2 minutes, which is among the goals of 25. We will reduce the distance between Afyonkarahisar and Izmir to 2 hours. Someone who wants to go from Afyonkarahisar to Sivas goes in 15-16 hours, but as you can see, he goes from Afyonkarahisar to Sivas in 3,5 hours with YHT. As you can see, we will connect the east and west with YHT through divided roads.

We are not satisfied with the YHT, which we did and will do in divided ways. 100-80-90 years ago, when the Republic was founded, nobody touched the railways lines built in the first years until we arrived. Our trains and locomotives were traveling at the speed of a tortoise. When we took over, there was 10 thousand kilometers of railway. We have completely renewed the 10 km of this 8 thousand kilometer railway. As of the end of 500, we will completely overcome all the railways, the remaining 2016 kilometers built before us. Our trains going at a speed of 500-35 kilometers will have traveled with 40 kilometers. We consider not only passenger but also freight transportation. "

Minister Elvan also touched upon the issue of the new motorway project planned to pass through the city. We do not do anything without the demand of the Afyonkarahisar people during the construction phase of the highway. For those who criticize us, they do not have a right to criticize our ministers and MPs. 10 years ago, the village was located in Afyon, Turkey Afyon provinces are today among the most advanced industry, trade, tourism ministers from which angle you look, Afyon thriving, growing rapidly is developing, "he said.

The ceremony took place in addition to the Ministers, the Governor of Afyonkarahisar Hakan Yusuf Güner, the Mayor of Afyonkarahisar Burhanettin Çoban and the managers of the apartments.

Afyonkarahisar-Kütahya divided road (47 km) Sandıklı-Keçiborlu road (69 kilometer), Dinar-Dazkırı- 2. The total number of roads that cost around 55 million TL, including the regional border (658 kilometer), was opened by the members of the protocol participating in the ceremony.
