Studies on the High Speed ​​Train (YHT) line, which is one of the priority projects of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications and will directly connect Ankara to Istanbul, continue. Feasibility studies are carried out for the 280-kilometer section of the project, from Sincan to Köseköy.

The ministry plans to implement the project with the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. Currently 5-6 is interested in the project. The ministry also shares the details with the related companies and exchanges views. The project is planned to be launched within the year of 2015.
In the new line, trains will speed over 350 kilometers. With the existing Ankara-Eskişehir-Istanbul YHT line, travel time decreased to 3,5 hours. This time will decrease to 1 hour and 15 minutes when the new line is put into operation. According to feasibility studies, the new line is expected to cost $ 4,5-5 billion.
