Automatic anti-icing system for metrobus road

Automatic solution release system against icing on the Metrobus road: Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has completed its preparations against the heavy snowfall that is expected to come to Istanbul today. The teams of IMM Road Maintenance and Repair Department will fight against the adverse weather conditions in the city with 4 personnel, 800 thousand tons of salt, 209 tons of solvents and 385 vehicles.
In line with the information obtained from the meteorology, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) took action against the heavy snowfall that was expected to fall in Istanbul as of this evening. The teams of the IMM Road Maintenance and Repair Department, who have completed their preparations and are waiting, will fight against the adverse weather conditions in the city with 4 personnel. In the use of the personnel, there will be 800 thousand tons of salt and 209 tons of solution, and 385 vehicles and construction equipment. If this number is insufficient in the fight against snow, personnel and vehicles will be supplemented by contractors serving the municipality. Snow shoveling will be done by teams in front of bridges, overpasses, underpasses, bus stops, ferry piers, squares, hospitals and schools. The "Snow Tiger" vehicle, which plows, sweeps, dries and sprinkles salt, will be used by the Road Maintenance and Repair Department teams on ring roads as well as in various points of Istanbul.
Stating that all preparations against snowfall have been completed, IMM Road Maintenance and Repair Directorate Coordination Chief Sabri Gültekin said, “We switched to the shift system. We will be at work 24 hours a day. With 23 vehicles and construction equipment, 4 personnel, 800 tons of salt and 209 tons of solution, all our teams became alarmed. We are waiting ready for the coming snowfall in the evening. All our solution supplies were made to our regions. Our vehicles are ready and waiting 'he said.
Stating that they have also established an automatic solution release system against icing on the metrobus road, Gültekin said, “We established an automatic solution dispensing system on the Beylikdüzü-Haramidere metrobus line. We are doing his trials this year. This system completely takes the air and road temperature values ​​and feels the icing 45 minutes before. According to the incoming values, it prevents icing by throwing the solution onto the road. According to the results of this study, we intend to spread the system on the metrobus roads where we have difficulties such as Haliç and Uzunçayır ramps' he said.
