Pertevniyal pedestrian overpass removed

The Pertevniyal pedestrian overpass is removed: The pedestrian overpass in front of the Pertevniyal High School on Fatih Atatürk Boulevard is removed by a signaled walkway for easier access to pedestrians.
Pedestrian overpasses on the main streets are removed one by one by the instruction of Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Kadir Topbaş. Signal passage arrangement is made in order to provide easier access of pedestrians to the overpasses on the main roads, especially the Historic Peninsula. The dismantling of the overpass, which weighs approximately 120 tons in front of Pertevniyal High School, started at 00.00:00.00 at night and will last for three days. Due to the works, Atatürk Boulevard will be closed to vehicle traffic between 06.00 and XNUMX, traffic flow will be provided through alternative routes. After removing the pedestrian overpass, pedestrian level crossing arrangement will be made for pedestrians with easy access for disabled people, elderly and children. The passage of pedestrians will be provided directly by traffic lights.
THE FIRST TIME OF THE CIRCUIT IS REMOVED
Within the scope of the works, the Sirkeci pedestrian overpass, which was located at the intersection of 'Kennedy Caddesi-Ankara Caddesi and Reşadiye Caddesi, was removed. The lifting of the overpass began on Saturday, November 22, 2014 and lasted for 4 days.
