The snowfall that started at noon yesterday and continued by increasing its impact in Balıkesir causes disruptions in transportation. Transportation stopped on the Balıkesir-Edremit-Ayvalık highway connecting Istanbul to the coastal areas of the Aegean Region. Those who came from Istanbul to Balıkesir, Edremit and Ayvalık by bus are stuck. Hüseyin Bayraktar, a businessman who came to Edremit, made a statement to Cihan News Agency over the phone. We saw that the road was closed at the area of Sapci. Tens of trucks and cars were trapped in front of us with seven passenger buses behind us. Since the road is closed by Edremit and Havran, there is no passing. We do not know how to work to open the roads, but we have been stuck here for five hours. We expect urgent help from the authorities. ” said.
Highways officials said that work on road construction is continuing.
