Ankara-Izmir High Speed Train Coming: Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Lütfi Elvan made striking comments about the ministry's transportation projects.
"We want to open our Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line at the end of 2015," said Elvan, and announced that the tender for the Ankara-İzmir high-speed line will be held in 2015. Elvan announced that the rail system will pass through the Çanakkale Strait bridge.

He stated that they will bid for the tender of the section up to Turgutlu in 2015 on the Ankara-İzmir YHT line.
Minister Elvan said about the ministry's new projects:
“We attach great importance to Çukurova Airport. The company that got this job has financial problems and is in talks with some foreign companies. They offered DHMİ a joint purchase, and DHMI evaluates this, and we will make a decision in this framework. ”
Elvan stated that the infrastructure works of Ordu-Giresun Airport have been completed and the superstructure works are continuing, and that they want to put into service as of March 2015.
