Work on the Ovit Tunnel has resumed: Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Lütfi Elvan stated that the works stopped in Ovit Tunnel by the inspectors of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security have started as of today.

Regarding when the works will start in Ovit Tunnel, Elvan noted that there will be no delay in the opening of the tunnel. Explaining that the length of each tube is 2 kilometers in Ovit Tunnel, which is the second largest double-tube tunnel in the world, Elvan said, “We are building a tunnel of approximately 14,7 kilometers. At the moment, the level of 30 percent has been reached… There is no delay. As of today, work has started in the tunnel. It was determined by the labor inspectors that there was no gas measuring device. A gas measuring device has been procured and therefore work has started as of today ”.
