The road without pavement is dangerous for students

The road without sidewalks poses a danger for students: On the school road in Şanlıurfa's Siverek district, students walk on the busy and narrow highway to go to school.
Students in Siverek district have to walk on the narrow and busy Siverek-Çermik Road due to the lack of pavement on the route. On the highway, there are about one thousand 800 students, Türk Telekom High School, Private Farabi Health Vocational High School, Central Anatolian High School and Science High School.
Especially, a significant number of Central Anatolian and Science High School students go to school by walking on the right and left of this road. This road, with no pavement or walking area, poses a great danger to students and other pedestrians. Stating that there was no result from the correspondence with the General Directorate of Highways about the problem, the school administrators stated that the justified claims were rejected on the grounds of "lack of funds".
Providing information on the subject, school administrators said, “There is no traffic signaling system, pedestrian and school crossings on the school route, anywhere on the one-way road. Although the city minibus line extends to Tokdemir location, there is no passenger stop on the road. Especially in passenger loading and unloading, when there are no areas where minibuses can approach on the roadside, they stand on the road lane, and in this case, there are great risks for both vehicles and people. Considering that the Science High School is a hostel, it is a fact that everyone has voiced how dangerous this road is, because there is no lighting system at night. The correspondence we made with the General Directorate of Highways for the solution of the problem of schools and institutions did not come out. Justified claims are rejected on the grounds of "lack of allowance". It is necessary to find a solution without wasting time and without painful events on this road, where accidents that result in death from time to time are also experienced. " It was said.
