The peasants and the municipality built a bridge together: Artuklu Municipality and the villagers built a bridge along the village road.
In the Bağlıca (Bernişt) District, 40 kilometers from Mardin, a new road opened in the mountainous area for citizens to go to their vineyards and gardens, this time a bridge was built on the stream bed that passes through the neighborhood. The bridge, undertaken by the Artuklu Municipality and handled by the village people, has been completed. With the bridge built by the village people and the Artuklu Municipality hand in hand, the people of the village now have the opportunity to reach their vineyards and gardens in a shorter time.
Municipality Councilor Hüseyin Doğan said that during his examination on the bridge he completed with the cooperation of the municipality and the citizens, the citizens fulfilled their demands.
Doğan reminded that they had previously opened a road for citizens to go to their vineyards and gardens in Bağlıca District and now they have built a bridge over the stream bed that passes through the village.
Hüseyin Doğan said that the most important feature of this bridge is that Artuklu Municipality meets its materials and needs and that the workmanship is done by the villagers. Doğan said that they have revealed another example of the municipality of the people and that they are thinking of calling the bridge 'People's Bridge'.
