Speaking at the Kepez District Organization of his party, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Menderes Türel said that the rail system route will be expanded. President Türel announced that Varsak, as well as Aksu, will be included in the existing rail system between Kepez and Meydan in the upcoming period. Explaining that they will build a new line extending from the old municipality service building in Varsak to Sakarya Boulevard and from there to the intercity bus terminal, Menderes Türel said, “There, this line will be connected to the existing rail system. This line will extend to Akdeniz University and then to the Training and Research Hospital. We will connect the nostalgic tram line, which was built during the period of Hasan Subaşı, one of the former mayors of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, to the Education Research Hospital. The line connecting to Aksu will be connected to the airport. Thus, those who get on the rail system from Varsak will be able to land either at the Lights, Aksu or at the airport ”.
Explaining that he lost the 11 elections after making the 2009-kilometer rail system between Kepez and the square, Türel stated that they asked the public about the routes of the new rail system to be built. Menderes Türel, who stated that they will fly Kepez with President Hakan Tütüncü, said that the Western Ring Road in Konyaaltı could not be opened in the past due to the zoning legislation and precedent fights among CHP members. Reacting to those who criticized him for the opening of the area where the road will pass, Mayor Türel said that the work on the development was initiated during the period when the Metropolitan Municipality was in CHP.
