Nazarbayev to attend the railway opening ceremony in Turkmenistan

Nazarbayev will attend the railway opening ceremony in Turkmenistan: Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev will visit Turkmenistan.

Nazarbayev will attend the opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway line project on December 3, within the scope of his contacts. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is expected to attend the opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway line project, which was built within the scope of the North-South Railway project that will connect Central Asia to the Persian Gulf.

The railway line, which will be put into service with the participation of the presidents of these 3 countries, will shorten the road to the Persian Gulf by 600 kilometers. Last year, Nazarbayev and Berdimuhamedov opened the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan line of this railway with an official ceremony.

The first part of the project, which began in 2007, was completed by building the 146 kilometer line within its borders. The total length of the line is 930 mileage. Turkish companies are also involved in the construction of the project.
