Heavy vehicles and transit vehicles will not enter Istanbul

Heavy vehicles and transit vehicles will not be able to enter Istanbul: Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Lütfi Elvan clarified Istanbul's measures to reduce the traffic load.
Stating that Lütfi Elvan, the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, will surround the Marmara Region with highway rings, made the following assessment: “3. The new projects we will implement with the introduction of the bridge will significantly reduce the traffic load of Istanbul. By surrounding the Marmara Region with highway rings, heavy vehicles and transit vehicles will be transported to Thrace without entering Istanbul. Part of the traffic load will be shifted with the bridges and roads planned for Çanakkale. Highways and Çanakkale crossings that will surround the Marmara Region and transit traffic will be directed to Europe via Tekirdağ and Edirne.
Minister Lutfi Elvan said that some measures will be taken to alleviate the burden of Istanbul. 3. the new projects that we will put into practice with the introduction of the bridge will decrease the traffic load of Istanbul significantly. It will be ensured that heavy vehicles and transit vehicles will be directed to Thrace without entering Istanbul by surrounding the Marmara Region with motorway rings.
