United Transport Union Izmir branch also departed

The Izmir branch of the United Transport Union also departed: members of the Union of United Transporters (BTS) gathered in front of Alsancak Station against dismissals, exiles and privatization of railways.

After the statement attended by representatives of KESK Branches Platform, the workers who set out on foot from Alsancak Station on the railway to Basmane Station, departed from here to Menemen, their first stop by bus. Railway workers stated that it was the unfair practices of the AKP and its bureaucrats in the railways that put them on the road. Railroaders said that the action will end in front of the TCDD General Directorate in Ankara on November 24, and that they aim to meet with their colleagues in Menemen and then Uşak, Afyon, Eşkişehir and reach Ankara from here.

TCDD IS LIQUIDED

BTS General Secretary Hasan Bektaş said, “In the meetings and meetings we held with TCDD managers after the enactment of the Railways Law, which aims to destroy the TCDD's liquidation and the vested rights of the employees, we stated our concerns about the future of the personnel and asked whether any action will be taken other than the employees' request. Contrary to these actions of the TCDD administration, some workplaces were closed, some were merged, and some of the staff were appointed against their will. In the light of these facts, we took this decision to march in order to create a kamouo about the negative conditions we are in, to inform the society and to show our reaction. We are one of the branches of the march that starts from 5 branches on railways ”.
