In the lawsuit filed regarding the train accident, the first engineer Fikret Karabulut was sentenced to 1 years in prison and 2008 TL fine, and the second engineer Recep Sönmez was sentenced to 1 year and 2.5 months in prison and a fine of 1100 TL.

Train chief Köksal Coşkun was acquitted. The Supreme Court of Appeals overturned the decision on 23 July 2009, determining that there were notifications. The local court resolved the shortcomings. Examining the file again, the 2nd Chamber of the Supreme Court of Appeals overturned the procedural decision about the 2011st engineer Fikret Karabulut and the second engineer Recep Sönmez in September 1.

In the case, the lawyer of the machinists, İsmail Güreses, with his expert report in the accident, stated that 8 out of 4 TCDD had a fault, and demanded that TCDD officers be tried. The court did not comment on this request. Lawyer İsmail Gürses said that this decision of the court was not notified to them.
