The first high-speed train in the Uyghur region began: the first high-speed train in the Xinjiang (Xinjiang) Uyghur Autonomous Region in the northwest of China started the journey.
The high-speed train from the center of the region Urumqi to the city of Hami in the east, on the 530 km long line; It is designed for 200 kilometers per hour speed. It was noted that the high speed train, which halves the normal distance and reaches Hami in 3 hours, contributed greatly to the transportation of the region.
The line is also part of the Urumqi-Lanzhou (center of Gansu Province) line, which is one thousand 776 kilometers long and is expected to be operational by the end of this year.
This line, shortly called Lanxin, crosses the Gobi Desert and reaches Lanzhou. It was stated that the line is also of great importance for the Silk Road Economic Belt that China has put forward. Cooperation between China and Central and West Asian countries is expected to strengthen with this line.
It is reported that the construction of the high-speed train line between Lanzhou and Beijing is continuing and this line is expected to be completed before 2017. If the line in question ends, the distance between Urumqi and Beijing, which is 41 hours, will be reduced to 16 hours.
