Kahramanmaraş light rail system project is on the way: 6 more buses were put into service within the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Services Department.
Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatih Mehmet Erkoç, who examines the buses in front of the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality service building, is working hard on the modernization of public transportation. In addition, we are moving to a new card system called Kahramanmaraş card. This card system will be valid in all public transportation vehicles. It will be the system that can use some devices, including mobile phones. The final stage has been reached regarding the card system. I hope we will solve this problem in the coming days. I hope we will bring the light rail system to Kahramanmaraş in the medium term. In this regard, we will first determine the route and conduct expropriation studies and then install the mechanical system and introduce Kahramanmaraş to the light rail system in the medium term. Our determination on this also continues. Of course, we consider this as the medium term in terms of paying back the system related to the light rail system, the system's economy, costs and self-paying. We talked to many provinces and we will first complete the projects and expropriation studies on light rail systems. After that, we will complete our work with the assembly of the mechanical system and put it into the service of the people of Kahramanmaraş.
We strive to provide a more modern public transportation and transportation service. We are opening new roads as Kahraman Maras, Metropolitan Municipality, opening new boulevards. At the same time, we begin bridged intersections. We have completed the planning works and we will start the works in the coming days and we will complete our works until the end of 2015 and we will enable our people to make transportation in a more modern and more comfortable environment.
