Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatih Mehmet Erkoc examined the buses in front of the service building of the Metropolitan Municipality of Kahramanmaras, said that the buses will be put into service immediately.
Mayor Erkoç said: “As the Metropolitan Municipality, we have added six more buses to our transportation fleet today. Our buses with a length of 12 meters are capable of carrying approximately 102 people and we have taken them to serve our people urgently. We are making the transportation more modern in Kahramanmaraş. We will carry our citizens with more modern vehicles. Our people will use public transportation in a safer and more peaceful way. We are working hard on the modernization of public transportation. In addition, we are moving to a new card system called Kahramanmaraş card. This card system will be valid in all public transportation vehicles. It will be the system that can use some devices, including mobile phones. The final stage has been reached regarding the card system. I hope we will solve this problem in the coming days. Hopefully, we will bring Kahramanmaraş to the light rail system in the medium term. In this regard, we will first determine the route and conduct expropriation studies and then install the mechanical system and introduce Kahramanmaraş to the light rail system in the medium term. Our determination on this also continues. Of course, we consider this as the medium term in terms of paying back the system related to the light rail system, the system's economy, costs and self-paying. We talked to many provinces and we will first complete the projects and expropriation studies on light rail systems. After that, we will complete our work by assembling the mechanical system and put it into the service of the people of Kahramanmaraş.
We strive to provide a more modern public transportation and transportation service. We are opening new roads as Kahraman Maras, Metropolitan Municipality, opening new boulevards.
