Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Lütfi Elvan, who came to Mersin to make examinations, received information about the ongoing works on the Mersin-Antalya highway. Stating that there are 22 tunnels on the Mersin-Antalya highway route, 3 of them have been completed, Minister Elvan said that they will complete 4 tunnels next year. We are doing our best to make our city, which will be the tourism mirror of our country in the future, attain great investments. Mersin will be an exemplary city in all aspects in the near future ”.
TWO CARS ARE HARD
Strolling through a tunnel under construction, Minister Elvan said, “This tunnel is approximately 850 meters in length, and we have many tunnels one after the other. The old roads, as you can see, are about 6 meters wide, two cars difficult to pass, quite difficult and geographically bad. We will get rid of those ways now. I hope our citizens will have the opportunity to travel from Mersin to Antalya in a much more comfortable way, ”he said. Turkey Elvan Minister stating that the uninterrupted continuation of work in general, "We have over 2 thousand construction sites. We have a route to the Antalya border of approximately 487 kilometers. We will open the 11-kilometer section of this as a divided road next week. We want to finish this route as soon as our technical facilities allow. Therefore, our friends will continue to work in our tunnels even in winter conditions, ”he said.
