Chpli Ruins: Horozköy Station Building Railway Museum Olsun.CHP Manisa deputy Hasan Oren, recently brought to the agenda by the UAV Railway Museum for the historic Horozköy Train Station proposed.

Noting that the deplorable situation of the Horozköy station building in Manisa disturbed the Manisans, CHP Manisa Deputy Hasan Ören said, “Manisa is among the first places where rail transportation with 150 years of history started in our country. After the İzmir-Aydın railway, the construction of which was started in 1856, was opened in 1865 to the Izmir-Town 'Turgutlu' and Manisa-Bandırma line. Therefore, the station and station buildings in Manisa and its districts have historical and cultural value. "The Horozköy station building, which is considered one of the most important and built with French architecture, is kept idle," he said.

Noting that the building, which was left unowned, was destroyed by unidentified people in time, Ören said: “It is known that the historical building underwent restoration four times within ten years, one of which was suitable for its original. Despite this, the damage in the building is growing day by day because it is not protected. In order to protect the station buildings, I submitted a question proposal with the request of the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications. It is our duty to protect these structures that witness the liberation war and the history of the republic. I think that these buildings, which are the value of Manisa, should be used in accordance with the original for cultural purposes. For this reason, it will be a useful service to open a "Railway Museum" in Manisa, which is one of the places where railway transportation first started. The fact that the Horozköy station building will be used for this purpose will please all Manisans. ”

Grand National Assembly of Turkey by Hasan Oren Parliamentary questions he wanted answered in writing by the President of the offer and Maritime Transport and Communications Minister Lutfi Elvan said:

“What is the number of the station and station buildings in Manisa? Which institution does their ownership belong to? Are there any station buildings leased to other institutions and organizations and individuals? Do you have any work on the original restoration and repair of the Horozköy station building? Will you make a study on the construction of the Railway Museum of the Horozköy station building, which is of great importance in terms of the history of railway transportation in our country? If the building will not be used by your institution, are you planning to transfer this building to municipalities or other institutions for cultural purposes, provided that it is properly protected? ”
