Sivas high-speed train urban route will be determined in October: Mayor Sami Aydın is closely interested in all the projects that need to be done in Sivas. It strives not only for projects carried out by the Municipality, but also for projects carried out by other public institutions and organizations, to achieve the city with maximum benefit and minimum error.
Moving on with this principle, Aydın also held talks in several ministries in Ankara regarding the works of Sivas. Meeting was on top.
The most prominent of the meetings was the meeting on the high-speed train project that will connect Sivas to Istanbul by the end of 2016. A wide-ranging meeting was held between the Ministry of Transport and the municipal delegations to finalize the reconstruction of the city and to finalize the issues that have been discussed for a while on the high speed train route and the station location.
Feridun Bilgin, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, presided over the meeting at the Ministry of Transport. Lawmakers Hilmi Bilgin and Ali Turan were also present at the meeting.
On behalf of the Ministry of Transport, Süleyman Karaman, Head of Construction Department, General Manager of 4, Technical staff engaged in high-speed train project participated in the meeting held for high-speed train route. On behalf of Sivas Municipality, Mayor Sami Aydın, Vice Mayors Abdurrahim Ceyhan, Naci Süha, Director of Reconstruction Erol Young and City Planner Ertugrul Aydin attended.
TCDD General Manager Süleyman Karaman made his first presentation about the high speed train lines within the city.
Mayor Aydin touched on the sensitivities of the province of Sivas, conveyed the views of civil society organizations and the most important places in terms of the silhouette of the city, emphasized that it is important to pass the route.
Aydın then presented the municipality's proposal by showing how many roads cross the alternative routes on the map.
After the technical teams made the necessary explanations, the two teams agreed to work together. It was agreed that the high speed train route would be in the city and the station would be made to the city with minimum error.
The technical units affiliated with the TCDD construction office will prepare the details of alternative routes and will arrive in Sivas in October. With the technical teams of Sivas Municipality, the works will be accelerated by seeing them at the site.
