Indonesia Sulawesi Railway Construction Started

The Indonesian government officially started the construction of the first phase of the Sulawesi railway on 12.08.2014. This project, which is being implemented as part of the National Railway Master Plan, is the first railway project outside of Java and Sumatra.

It is calculated that the 145 km long line will cost approximately 770 million USD. This price includes the railway vehicles to be purchased.

The first phase will start from the shores of Makassar, the provincial capital of Sulawesi and go to the North of Parepare.
