Balçova Cable Car Facilities Left Another Spring: Izmir Metropolitan Municipality cannot finish the renovation works of Balçova Cable Car Facilities. The completion date of the construction of Balçova Cable Car Facilities, one of the city's landmarks, was set as April 30, 2014. The new opening date was set as August 7, after the postponements, since the facilities that the municipality closed 28 years ago for renovation were not completed within the announced period.

In his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of the facility, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu stated that the cable car will be reached on December 31, 2012 and said, “If there is no setback, the cable car will be opened to the use of our citizens from Izmir as of December 31, 2012. It will find its place in Balçova's emblem in actuality. This cable car will ensure the continuation of the work of our esteemed President Ercüment Uysal and will continue to be the feature of Balçova. I wish good luck ”.

According to the information we obtained from Gaze-Temiz website, after the facility did not reach this date, Deputy Secretary General Raif Canbek, who gave information, said that the "Renovation of Balçova Cable Car facilities" will be completed on 30 April 2014. Aysen KALPALI, Head of Science Affairs Department, who made the last statement for the ropeway that did not reach this date, stated the new date as 28 August.

The completion date of the renovation of Balçova Cable Car Facilities is 28 August, that is, today, again, the opening was not held.
