Sümelaya ropeway project approved

The cable car project in Sümelaya has been approved: The project that enables the cable car to reach Sumela Monastery has been approved. It was stated that the project prepared for taking the historical Sümela Monastery in Altındere Valley of Trabzon's Maçka district by cable car was approved.

Providing information on the subject, Maçka Mayor Koray Koçhan told Sümela that the ropeway project was approved and said that tourism would be much more active if the project was implemented. Koçhan said, “There are projects we have done together with Sümela, whether it be our General Directorate of National Parks, our municipality or our metropolitan municipality. For example, the cable car project to Sümela is currently approved. This project is a project that will save the future of Sümela. In addition, the existing facilities in Sümela will be renewed and there will be regional sales departments. We are of the opinion that the restoration project will be positive in the committee right now. ”
Regarding the place where the cable car will be installed, Koçhan said, “It is an area that will come from the entrance of the National Park to the walking path next to the pathway. It's almost a 3-4 kilometer ropeway. It will be an investment of an estimated 10 million. The cable car will be very attractive here because there is a Çakırgöl project, a ski project. With these, the following road will be expanded with Sümela as part of the green roads project. With the involvement of skiing tourism alone, everyone agrees that this place will not remove the traffic. Therefore, the cable car will take the burden of the tourists coming to Sumela. Both the commercial income is great and the tourists who come will have the opportunity to watch the Sumela, the region over the natural pine forests from the air. ”
