Izmit shopkeeper waiting for YHT

Tradesmen in Izmit are waiting for YHT: The constant postponement of the start date of other suburban trips with the High Speed Train, which will reduce the train journey between Istanbul and Ankara to 3 hours, ruins the dreams of the tradesmen in Izmit. The tradesmen waiting for July 25, announced by the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Journalism, Lütfü Elvan, are waiting for the voyages to start saying "I hope this time will not be delayed".

The previously announced opening dates have been postponed many times due to reasons such as the collapse of the High Speed Train (YHT) station building in the Arifiye District of Sakarya, the bomb warning on the YHT line, and the cutting of signaling and communication cables. Regarding the High Speed Train, the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Lütfi Elvan, gave the date July 25 this time.

ESNAF IS WAITING FOR YHT

Due to the construction of the high-speed train line, all train services between Eskişehir and Istanbul have stopped, as in many settlements where the line passes, tradesmen in Izmit cannot do business for nearly 3 years as before. Due to the lack of suburban trips, students who go to and from Sakarya and Izmit to their schools in Istanbul and those who use the train to go to their workplaces on this line wait for the line to open as soon as possible.

Saying that they do not stay empty at their stops when there are train services, Yılmaz Karadeniz, who is a driver at Gar Taxi, said, “We expect the train services to run as soon as possible. I heard the cables being played together. It should have ended by now, but we don't know the exact reason why it didn't end. We are currently sitting until the evening. Our affairs have come to a complete halt due to Ramadan. Our work was very busy when there was a train. Now all we are waiting for is the start of the train service ”.

'HOPE ONE BEFORE YHT STARTS TO WORK'

Saying that they were waiting for the train services as soon as possible, retired Kazım Erden said, “I used the train frequently. I have relatives in Istanbul and some provinces. My thought about procrastinating might be a conspiracy. Because it is often delayed. I think YHT is good for long distances. I hope it starts working as soon as possible ”.

Tradesmen who are on the way from the station building in Izmit, due to the stoppage of the train services, also complain about not doing enough.
