Highways become toll in Germany: In Germany, the government is making public the details of the draft law, which entails the introduction of tolls.
Details of the draft, prepared by Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt, were reflected in the media. Accordingly, tolls will apply to the entire road network in Germany. German drivers will pay 150 euros annually. In turn, a reduction in motor vehicle tax will be made.
Foreign drivers will pay 10 for 10 daily vignette and 2 for 20 monthly stamp.
Siim Kallas, the member of the European Commission responsible for transportation, declared that the proposal to reduce the motor vehicle tax to be paid by the German drivers against the motorway to be paid is unacceptable.
Kallas said that the same conditions should be valid for German drivers and foreigners.
