Istanbul's suburban lines will be in service with new connections: Pendik-Gebze and Kazlıçeşme-, one of the most critical suburban lines of Istanbul.Halkalı It was a matter of curiosity when the work on the suburban lines will end. The lines, which carried 150 thousand passengers a day, were closed in April 2012 and 2013, and then work began to connect to Marmaray. Ministry of Transport officials announced that they expect the lines to be completed by the end of 2015.

Pendik-Gebze line, which is one of the oldest and busiest railway lines in Istanbul, in April 2012; Kazlıçeşme-Halkalı line was closed in March 2013 in order to be integrated into the Marmaray Project. Although it is stated that the rail renewal works started after its closure, the Pendik-Gebze line has not been opened even though the projected time has passed 3 months.

Kazlıçeşme-Halkalı 24 will expire in March while the 2015 month is for the line. However, officials of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications said that such large construction projects cannot be given a definite date for the completion, while the work on these two lines is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
