Third airport scares Germany

The third airport scares Germany: Schulte, Chairman of the Fraport company, operating Frankfurt Airport, evaluated the 3rd airport.

Stefan Schulte, Chairman of the Fraport company, operating Frankfurt Airport in Germany, said that the 3rd airport to be built in Istanbul will be a test that must be overcome.

According to the news in the German News Agency DPA, Schulte stated that a new airport with a capacity of 150 million passengers will be slowing the growth of Frankfurt Airport in Istanbul. '' Lower growth will occur for us. "This will be the test that needs to be overcome for us," said Schulte, adding that expanding the airport in Dubai as an international hub will also affect Frankfurt Airport's growth.

Stating that the status of Frankfurt Airport, which is the third largest airport in Europe, is in good condition due to the strong domestic market and the desire of people to travel, Schulz stated that they expect 2 to 3 percent growth in the number of passengers this year and in the coming years.

Schulte, the president of Fraport, which also operates Antalya Airport with an annual passenger number of 27 million, noted that Fraport operates many airports in the world and they look at other opportunities.

On the other hand, it was stated that the number of passengers exceeded 5,3 million in May at Frankfurt Airport.

In a statement made by the company Fraport, it was stated that exceeding 5,3 million passengers was a record for May. It was also noted that cargo transportation from Frankfurt Airport increased by 2013 percent in May this year compared to May 6,9 and reached 182 thousand 958 tons.

Being the largest airport in Germany, Frankfurt Airport served 58 million passengers last year.
The Fraport company entered into a tender with a Turkish partner for the construction and operation of the new airport in Istanbul, but did not win.
