Underpass service at the Arifiye: Arifiye Arifbey neighborhood and the Fatih, Cumhuriyet and Neviye underpass connecting the neighborhoods came into service.
Under the High Speed Train Project (YHT) implemented by TCDD, the underpass on Arifbey Mahallesi Atatürk Street was opened to traffic on Tuesday, June 24, after the asphalt, lighting and arrangement work carried out by the teams of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Traffic Branch Directorate. Cars, vans and motorcycles with a height below 3 meters and pedestrians will be able to benefit from the underpass. The traffic flow around the underpass on Atatürk Street was also reorganized. While going to Sapanca direction is via Atatük Street, arrivals from Sapanca are also used to reach Atatürk Street from Arifiye City Square by using Şehit Mustafa Sezer Street.
Arifiye Mayor İsmail Karakullukçu said in his statement: “Under the YHT implemented by TCDD, underpasses and bridges in Arifiye district are finished and put into service. Today, the works in the underpass, which is carried out in place of the level crossing on Atatürk Street, Atatürk Street, were completed and the gate was offered to our citizens. Following the completion of the work done by TCDD, the support of our Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeki Toçoğlu, the Metropolitan Municipality Traffic Branch Directorate and the Directorate of Science Affairs were offered to the service of our underpass. I would like to thank our driver and citizens, Zeki Toçoğlu, our Metropolitan Mayor, who did not withhold the help and support from us, as he did in every issue, not to compromise the sad events, as we have been here, thank you very much, on behalf of my fellow citizens.
