Listening to the briefing given by Erdogan Dedeoglu, Chief Engineer of Highways Asine Bridge before the trip, the engineers got detailed information about the project. Dedeoğlu stated that 1250 people work in Izmit Bay Crossing Suspension Bridge construction and 4500 people work in the total project day and night, and that the construction of the bridge progresses simultaneously with the works on land and at sea. Dedeoğlu said that the İzmit Bay Crossing Suspension Bridge, which will be built within the scope of the project, will take the 1550th place among the largest middle span suspension bridges in the world, with a central span of 2682 meters and a total length of 4 meters.
"TOWER FOUNDATION IS ESTABLISHED" Giving information about the studies, Dedeoğlu said, "Once completed, the caisson basement of the bridge, which will connect the Gulf of Izmit to 1 Iersek Buni, on the southern coast of Dilovası, is first in the dry pool in the southern Aikraj region (Herzegovina). Then, it was completed in 2 stages in the wet pool in Kavtazdere location. Then the tower caisson foundations were floated and brought to the bridge tower points, where they were placed on the seabed, which was improved with the very precise dipping technique, previously filled with steel piles and granular filling material, and manufacturing continued at the sea. ” he spoke.
