Izmir finishes ropeway Denizli finishes

Izmir cable car could not finish Denizli ends: Balçova cable car, which has become the symbol of İzmir, has been left to its fate for 7 years, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will open the cable car between Bağbaşı and Zeytinli plateau after 4 months.

While Izmir has not been able to reach the cable car on the Balçova Dede Mountain, which has been closed for 7 years, Denizli has attacked in this area. Construction of the cable car to be built between Bağbaşı and Zeytinli Plateau in Denizli started this month. Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Osman Zolan announced that they will open the facility after 4 months. The cable car construction in Izmir continues to count on the spot. The authorities of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality refrained from giving a clear date for the completion of the cable car, which can only be erected in 7 years in 3 years. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu said, “Let's not give a date, when the ropeway construction of Yeni Asır will be completed. But it will be opened this year ”.

Only 3 mast
Although the construction at Balçova Cable Car Facilities, which is one of the most important landmarks of the city, was said to be completed on April 30, 2014, it could not be put into service on the promised date in the Izmir metro construction. While it is planned to carry 800 passengers per hour in 8-person cabins on the 1300 meter long cable car line, only 7 of the 8 cable cars could be erected after 3 years. While the opening of the Balçova Cable Car Facility to service is another spring, citizens living in Denizli started counting days to reach the cable car facility to be built in their cities, unlike the Izmir residents.

Longer in Denizli
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan, who announced that 1396 thousand people can be transported per hour with 8 cabins of 24 persons on the 2 meter long cable car line, stated that the construction works that started between Bağbaşı and Zeytinli Plateau will be completed at the end of next September. Zolan, who made a statement at Güventepe location, which is the last point of the cable car, with an altitude of 1100, stated that the facility will contribute to urban tourism in summer and winter seasons. Pointing out that 30 bungalow houses will be built for the accommodation of the visitors, President Zolan said that the construction of the cable car, which was tendered for 15 million 500 thousand liras, will cost 20 million lira along with other facilities.

It was closed in 2007
The cable car facilities in Balçova were closed on November 5, 2007, after the investigation of the Izmir Branch of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers worsened enough to endanger people's life safety. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality was put out to tender on January 7, 2010. Metropolitan Municipality canceled the tender won by STM-Yapıkur from Izmir on the grounds that the missing documents were given. The matter brought to court resulted in frustration after a 4-year waiting period. It turned out that the company in question wanted to postpone bankruptcy by applying to the court on the grounds that it was sunk in debt. The company announced that the facility, the foundations of which were laid by President Aziz Kocaoğlu in April 2013, will be completed and put into service on 31 December 2013. However, this did not happen. The municipality, which last answered the application made by a citizen under the law on information, gave April 30, 2014 as the completion date of the work. However, the construction works, which have an investment cost of 12 million 65 thousand liras, have not been completed since that day. Kocaoğlu said, “Let's not give a date to the question of when the construction will be completed in Yeni Asır. But it will be opened this year ”.

"I'm clumsy"
He made interesting statements during the groundbreaking ceremony of Seferihisar Cultural Center, which will be held in cooperation with İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and Seferihisar Municipality. Speaking about his “clumsy” criticisms about him, Kocaoğlu said, “We are clumsy. I'm clumsy. I was not able to advertise with municipal money. I protected the property of the municipality, I was not able to destroy it, to attract investment. This incompetence is an honor certificate that my children will boast until the end of my life. If this is incompetence, it has a place on our heads. ” The fact that Kocaoğlu said that he knitted in a grocery store he visited in Sığacık after the ceremony, said, "When I retire, I will knit at home," and this caused laughter.
