Tree Cutting Protest for High Speed Train:Kadıköy City Solidarity protested the cutting of trees along the Haydarpaşa-Gebze suburban train line with their march yesterday.
In the past weeks, the cutting of many trees from Söğütlüçeşme to Bostancı along the Haydarpaşa-Gebze suburban train line was included in the national press due to the road expansion work for the Ankara-Istanbul high speed train.
The cutting of trees that were both inside and outside the train line and the destruction of some registered trees by removing their registrations had a great reaction. Yesterday Kadıköy Urban Solidarity protested the tree cutting with the march organized along the railway.
The Eskişehir-Ankara line of the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed Train project was opened for use in 2009. The project, which is continuing rapidly, is planned to be completed soon.
