Snowdrops

Snowdrops Growing on the Rail: Railway Management can be carried out with a completely technical personnel workforce due to its structure. In our country, TCDD opened TCDD Vocational High School in 1942 in order to train mechanics, dispatchers, road personnel and facilities personnel in order to provide such personnel. He continued his business administration through the staff trained in this school, and if he was not sufficient, he went to the outside of the staff. In addition, students were trained first in apprentice schools and then in practical arts schools to be employed as qualified worker personnel especially in railway factories.

However, in the 1990s, all of these schools were closed with the government decisions.Today, similar trainings have been given in some universities' railway vocational high school departments and in the railway departments that have opened to a few National Education high schools for the last few years, and this workforce is tried to be provided. I would like to talk about the Vocational High School and some of its features and explain its importance for TCDD. The first railway construction in our country was started in 1856 and the first operation was started in 1866. along with the railroad has brought it into its own lands.

However, the westernization of this technology, which was the invention of the Westerners, was made by Westerners and their operation with the build-operate model was under the control of some other concessions. These operators, especially the native muslim people out of this area of business and to ensure that they do not learn to take care. Therefore, during the 1 World War II due to the deterioration of the balance of war between the countries and the strategic importance of the control of the railways have experienced a lot of difficulties.

WW1 at the end instead of demolishing the empire by Atatürk together with the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and Behiç our remaining railways in our native land border with Erkin's efforts were purchased by paying money to foreign and millileştirilmiştir.ancak Turkish people, Istanbul under the leadership of the military enough not to have the knowledge to carry out railway operations, Konya and in some courses opened in Izmir, railway personnel were trained. A rapid development process was initiated by adding new ones to the existing railways through the personnel trained there.

With the establishment of TCDD, again under the leadership of Behiç Erkin, TCDD Vocational High School was opened in Ankara in 1942, in order to train permanent technical personnel with a more regular training. The school, which was closed in the 1950s, was reopened in the 60s and after a few years of education. TCDD, which had been closed for long years and was in trouble due to the lack of trained technical personnel, moved this school to Old City and re-opened it with a decision taken in 1974. personnel and facilities personnel carrying out communication and signaling duties were trained.

Graduates of this school, who started working as lower-level civil servants, gradually graduated from outside universities and became middle and senior management positions within TCDD and became the main backbone of TCDD as personnel management and workforce. Approximately 1942 personnel from 1998 to 4000. Almost half of the graduates of this school are still working in the institution. One of the most important characteristics of the graduates of this school is that they live 14 years of boarding school life between the ages of 17-3 and they have a great passion and solidarity between them because they have a fateful partnership and subsequently work together in the same institution. For this reason, over time, they established associations in which almost all graduates are members, formed their chests, and published a monthly magazine called Kardelen in order to maintain continuous communication between TCDD Vocational High School graduates, which may not be found in other school graduates. It has been very helpful for people to be better motivated and work in the organization.

Today, TCDD Vocational High School graduates want to re-open the schools that have been closed under the leadership of the graduates of associations and they are trying to make efforts in this direction. These people know that this profession requires more self-sacrifice, trust and solidarity than knowledge. They came to this school by exam and passing through a sieve with certain elem methods, and when they graduated, they had been in the regions of the east of the country for many years. There are some sine qua non conditions for healthy living and these people can be provided through the training provided in their own schools. They are moment.

As a graduate of this school, I believe that railway management can only be achieved with an education that students receive by walking on the rails and listening to the sound of the train every day through a school within the body of TCDD. Because our railways, which have a very complicated structure, have a lot of technical knowledge and plenty of practicality. Until a training based solely on theory starts to work, it will be nothing more than a waste of time! .. Trainings of Railway Operations can only be given by railway employees with good experience. Obviously, in the National Education High Schools, an education based on only theory and with incomplete information. I do not believe that these students or TCDD will bring much to their business life! .. However, when TCDD Vocational High School was reopened, as many of our friends have stated, we are aware that its old classical structure is far beyond and behind today's conditions. It should be restructured in line with a very good planning, a completely computer and simulation-supported education should be given and transformed into a college not only as a high school but as 3 + 2.This school should be undertaken not by TCDD, but also by the National Education. It should be equipped with training equipment. Most importantly, there should be plenty of practical training rather than theory.
