Yunuseli Canal will add prestige to the region: Bursa Metropolitan Municipality is creating a new recreation area with the reclamation work in Yunuseli Canal, which is a branch of Nilüfer Stream and was built 90 years ago to prevent floods.
Metropolitan Mayor Ak Party Recep Recep Altepe said that the Yunuseli Canal will add prestige to the region with the work done.
An important part of the rehabilitation and landscaping works in the Yunuseli Canal, which is a branch of the Nilüfer Stream that flows into the Sea of ​​Marmara and was built to prevent possible floods in the plain between 1925 and 1926, has been completed. While the construction of the river side walls was completed in the 5-kilometer section of the work to be carried out on a total of 3 kilometers, possible floods were completely prevented thanks to the stream section reaching 20 meters width and 3,5 meters height.
Metropolitan Mayor Recep Altepe, who examined the ongoing works in Yunuseli Canal on site, received information. Stating that the breeding and recreation work is continuing in Yunuseli Canal, which is a branch of Nilüfer Stream and which is made to prevent possible floods, Altepe said that the project will completely change the face of the region with pedestrian roads, landscape arrangements and the arrangement of highway elevations right next to it. Stating that the road elevations on the airport side of the canal will be reduced to the same level and thus an important main artery will emerge, Altepe said, “In this way, we will have gained an important main artery where the 30-meter road will be connected to the ring road. In addition, Yunuseli region will have a privileged living space with walkways around the canal, afforestation and landscaping works. ”
