60-year longing comes to an end with the completion of the Sarıyahşi Bridge

60 years of longing comes to an end with the completion of the Sarıyahşi Bridge: The towns and villages of Aksaray and Şereflikoçhisar district, which are close to Kırşehir, are excited to be in touch with the city again after the completion of the Sarıyahşi Bridge after 60 years of waiting.
Thanks to the bridge, which is planned to be opened for transportation in June, the towns and villages in the region will regain their economic and social connections, which were interrupted by the Hirfanlı Dam Lake, which was started in the 1950s.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Kırşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Selahattin Ekicioğlu reminded that Hirfanlı Dam Lake, which was started to be built in the 1950s, broke the economic and social ties of the towns and villages of Aksaray and Şereflikoçhisar with Kırşehir. Ekicioğlu stated that settlements such as Sarıyahşi, Evren and Çıkınağıl, which are about 50 kilometers away from Kırşehir, are farther away from Aksaray and Şereflikoçhisar, and that the idea of building the Sarıyahşi Bridge over the dam lake was put forward in the 1980s. He expressed that he was preparing. Stating that no progress has been made in the implementation of the project for many years, Ekicioğlu said:
“We look forward to the end of this longing, albeit with a delay of about 60 years. The idea of bridge and road connection developed in the 1980s. With the construction of the bridge, the project was prepared in the 1990s with the request of the people of the region who wanted to get closer to Kırşehir and to contact economically. Construction started on Hirfanlı Dam Lake in 2009. Last year, road and bridge works in Kırşehir section were completed. Before Hirfanlı Dam Lake was established, the people of this region were doing business with Kırşehir. The longing of the people of the region for 60 years is about to end. "
Ekicioğlu stated that within the scope of the project, the Kırşehir part of the bridge and the road was completed, while the Aksaray part continued. Ekicioğlu, who argued that the project was prolonged due to the lack of coordination between public institutions, added that the Sariyahşi Bridge, which is planned to be opened for transportation in June, will meet a great need of the region. - "The bridge will integrate the population of 50 thousand with Kırşehir"
AK Party Kırşehir Deputy Abdullah Çalışkan said that the 50-meter-long Sıdıklı-Sarıyahşi Bridge, which will socially and economically integrate the population of approximately 415 thousand people into Kırşehir, on the opposite side of the Hirfanlı Dam Lake, will fill a great deficiency. Çalışkan said, “We had completed the Kırşehir section in the past years. The problems experienced in the floor filling in the Aksaray region delayed the commissioning of this project a little. Once this problem is resolved, the work continues rapidly. The opening of this bridge will increase the social and economic ties between Kırşehir and Sarıyahşi, as well as other districts, towns and villages. This is extremely important for the future of Kırşehir ”.
