Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Siroceddin Aslov was received by Turkmenistan President Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov.
Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway, commercial and human relations, civilization and education issues were discussed in the meeting.
Following the meeting, in which the Ambassador of Tajikistan Abdurahim Aşur was also present, Turkmen-Afghan talks continued under the chairmanship of Tajikistan Minister Aslov at the Turkmenistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Agreements regarding the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway were signed during the meeting.
In February, the Turkmenistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the statements of Amanulla Hikmetulla, General Manager of the Tajikistan State Railways, that the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway project agreed with the admissions management on the Afghanistan-Tajikistan route.
