Monorail review report: Monorail transport systems are generally included in Western societies as a transport system in world fairs and amusement parks.
Recently, however, a large number of large-scale monorail public transport systems have been built, some are being built or are in the planning phase. Japan is clearly a leading country in the construction of new monorail systems. Successful public transport and new ones are planned with Kitakyushu, Chiba, Osaka, Tama, Tokyo-Haneda, Shonan, Naha-Okinawa systems. In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the company built its own internal monorail system with its own company established for this project and opened it at 2003. Apart from these examples, only Asia and Asia countries such as Singapore, S. Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, Iran, India, such as a large number of and various capacities of monorail transport systems are working or construction continues. Samples from America, Europe, Australia are also available.
However, monorail systems are not very common in the world and examples are special applications. It is not possible to present them as design criteria because of the limited technical information obtained about these systems. It is thought that a study can be presented in the form of technical presentation and research report, but also serious application examples from the world can be added to this report.
In this report, the general introduction of monorail systems is tried to be made. This study includes system types, technical specifications, application examples from the world and manufacturer information. The report also includes some comparative cost studies.
